TRIPLE R
The primary purpose of packaging material is to be able to protect products and reach the target market in the same condition as they left the factory/processing place. In addition to ensuring that our customer’s products are protected during storage and transportation our operations are such that we take deliberate steps to ensure that our environment is also protected. Protecting the environment is a three step process; we embrace the three Rs to achieve this.
The 3 Rs are represented by;
Renew
Our products are made of paper which if well managed is a renewable resource. The trees which are harvested are re-planted keeping forests healthy and vibrant.
Recycle
Our products are recyclable into paper and other paper products. We avoid use of wax and use moisture resistant coatings that do not render our products unrecyclable. We offer advice to customers on disposal of our products and also offer a return service for recycling purposes. A water treatment plant has been commissioned that recycles about 70% of waste water generated. Waste is segregated at source to make it easier for waste handlers.
Reduce
Necessary measures are taken to reduce waste, energy consumption, fuel consumption and water consumption.
At EAPI we recognise that we do not own the environment but that it’s a debt we owe future generations.
It’s all about sustainability-meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.
